Significant improvements in passport services soon | Vijayawada News

Vijayawada: Regional passport officer Siva Harsha announced significant improvements in passport services, attributing the success to seamless coordination between police, postal department, and advanced technology.
Speaking at a press conference on Saturday, Harsha said that special drives will be conducted every Wednesday at the Vijayawada centre, offering 250 additional appointments to cater to public demand. He emphasised that citizens should avoid brokers and utilize online services or visit the passport office directly to get their work done.
Highlighting achievements, Harsha noted that the Regional Passport Office issued 3,23,553 passports last year, marking a milestone in service delivery. Services are offered through two passport seva kendras in Vijayawada and Tirupati, alongside 13 post office passport seva kendras (POPSKs) across the state. The office was also recognised as the best in its category for the year 2023-24 for maintaining exceptional service standards.
The expansion of the Vijayawada passport service centre is nearing completion, promising enhanced facilities and efficient services.
Harsha praised the AP police for their swift verification process, enabling timely passport issuance, and the postal department for supporting doorstep delivery of passports.
