A three-day State-level ‘Poly Techfest’ to start in Vijayawada from January 6, 2025

“A three-day Poly Techfest-2024-25 will be organised from January 6, 2025, at S.S. Convention hall, Vijayawada,” said Director of Technical Education G. Ganesh Kumar.

Kona Sashidhar, Principal Secretary, Department of Skill Development; and Director, Technical Education, Ganesh Kumar will inaugurate the event on January 6, 2025 while Minister for Human Resource Development (HRD) Nara Lokesh will be the chief guest of the event on January 7, 2025.

In a statement, Mr. Kumar said the programme is a part of the Skill Andhra Pradesh Programme and aims to foster an innovation culture, scientific thinking and research among polytechnic diploma students. The initiative aligns with the government’s goal of promoting new innovations in science and technology and transforming students into technocrats.

In December 2024, regional tech fests were held across the 13 district headquarters across the State, where 1,302 projects were showcased. Among them, 249 projects were shortlisted for this State-level event.

Winners of the first prize at the regional level received cash prizes of ₹25,000 and the second prize ₹10,000.

In the State-level contest, winners in the first position would take home a cash prize of ₹1 lakh, second prize ₹50,000 and a cash prize of ₹25,000 would be given as consolation prize in each category.
