How did the ‘game changer’ opportunity come about? How was it working with Shankar?
Shankar called me for a game changer. On the set of Game Changer, I did as he said. Shankar was impressed by my performance. After seeing the performance in this movie, I was given a chance in Indian 2. Every artist wants to work with Shankar. He portrays each and every character. If you do what he says, it will look like magic on the screen.
How was the work experience with Ram Charan?
Ram Charan is an amazing actor. He became a global star. There is a great actor in that star. He will be seen in different shades in this film. He looks very smart as an IAS officer. Appanna’s role is memorable for a lifetime. Ram Charan acted brilliantly in the role of Appanna.
Did the director in you ever come out while working on Game Changer?
Focus on the game while playing as a player. Do not look sideways. When you are an actor you have to think only as an actor. However, I am not in a position to give advice and suggestions to Shankar. He is a very visionary director. People like Rajamouli spoke highly of Shankar. Rajamouli sir said a great thing that if you believe in a story and invest money, Shankar made you believe that it will return so well.
After many days, you met Pawan Kalyan at the pre-release event, tell us about that experience?
I felt very happy that our Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan came to our event. If he was talking about me, I felt indescribable joy. There was no word of mouth. When I touched him I felt an unknown joy. He is the same now as he was during Khushi’s time. Only then he used to talk about ideology. But I didn’t understand those things then. Now his ideology is visible to everyone. He always thinks for people. He always loves those who strive honestly.
How is the ‘Game Changer’ movie going?
A game changer shows the war between an honest IAS officer and a corrupt politician. How the scenes between these two characters have been shot.. How well Shankar has written the story, you have to see it in the theater itself. This movie is going to be amazing. All elements are present in this image. This movie will entertain everyone.
What aspect of the film did you find challenging?
I used to prepare a lot before coming to the game changer set. What does the director want?.. How should the scene be?.. How should the dialogue be said? I used to prepare a lot. But dubbing felt very difficult. Shankar gave me a wonderful role. I really enjoyed this character. That’s why I dubbed in all languages like Telugu, Tamil and Hindi. I don’t know Hindi very well. But the dubbing is amazing. You all should watch the movie in Hindi for the second time even for my Hindi dubbing.
What are the specials in ‘Game Changer’?
Every character created by Shankar in Game Changer is amazing. So far I haven’t seen the full movie. But I saw some rushes. Ram Charan’s scenes and my scenes turned out amazingly. The scenes between the two of us will give the audience a good kick. Apart from all this.. Recently I saw the song “Happen”. I was a bit disappointed when the lyrical video came out. Shankar’s magic is missing? I was dumbfounded. But I was shocked to see the full song. This song alone seems to be enough for our ticket money. This song will be a blast in the theatre. It feels like a village set in a coffee cup.
Would you direct again? Any plans for Khushi 2 with Akira?
I am very comfortable as an actor. I am not thinking anything about directing now. I saw Akira Nandan on a flight when I went to Rajahmundry. He felt amazing. Just like Pawan Kalyan, he is holding books and reading. If that God gives a chance.. if time comes.. let’s see if it will happen.
Say it for your producer Dil Raju
Dil Raju is truly an all-rounder. Those who make films only by investing money cannot be called producers. Dil Raju comes to the set. All crafts will be considered. Sets solve your problems immediately. He is good at stories. They speak bluntly about anything. That’s why I said Dil Raju is an all-rounder. He spent a lot on this film. A few crores have been spent on the song Ekah Jaarhandi. You will know how the song is going to be in the theater.
