Students from Army Public School Bolarum, R.K. Puram and Golconda were seen holding the weapons on display and enthusiastically asking questions about them to soldiers. The mela features a broad range of exhibits, including artillery guns, communication systems, NBC (Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical) warfare suits and indigenous military innovations.
The choice of Golconda Fort as the venue adds historical and cultural significance to the event, providing a majestic backdrop for exhibitions, said an officer.
After the National Anthem, Governor Jishnu Dev Varma formally opened the event by cutting the ceremonial ribbon. He then toured the venue, interacted with Army personnel and observed the various exhibits and equipment on display.
Among the highlights on Friday were demonstrations, including a captivating Gatka performance by soldiers of the Punjab Regiment, showcasing the traditional Sikh martial art. Soldiers from the Artillery Centre further impressed visitors with a performance of unarmed combat martial arts, reflecting the discipline and skill of the Indian Army.
The visitors also had the chance to participate in interactive zones, explore recruitment booths and gain insights into Army careers. Photo opportunities with military equipment and uniforms, alongside exhibits of gallantry awards and inspiring stories of valour, were part of their overall experience.
