Hyderabad’s second-longest flyover inaugurated, named after Manmohan Singh – Hyderabad News

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Monday inaugurated the second-longest flyover in Hyderabad and named it in honour of former prime minister Dr Manmohan Singh, who died on December 26 at the age of 92.

The flyover, over four kilometres in length, will connect Nehru Zoo Park and the Aramghar areas of Hyderabad.

Speaking on the inauguration of the flyover, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said, “We are ready to join hands and work in tandem with everyone for the development of Hyderabad. We will move forward with the MIM for city development. We pursue politics only during the elections and move together with everyone for Hyderabad development. Development must become a people’s movement.”

The 4.04 km long six-lane bidirectional flyover has been built at a cost of Rs 799.74 crore. Notably, the bill to form Telangana from Andhra Pradesh was passed during Manmohan Singh’s term as PM.

“Telangana will develop further once the Regional Ring Road work is completed. This is not an old city but the original city and original Hyderabad. The government will take up the construction of a cable bridge over Mir Alam Tank and develop it as the most attractive tourist spot, he said. We are prepared to provide funds for development and the responsibility of completing the work lies with the public representatives. The foundation stone for the construction of Osmania Hospital at Goshamahal will be laid soon, Reddy said.
