Hyundai Creta Electric, the first mass-market EV offering from the South Korean automaker, is all set to hit Indian roads on 17th January 2025. The prices of the EV will be announced on the inaugural day of the Bharat Mobility Show. Ahead of its public debut, the carmaker has revealed its technology and feature details along with the performance figures. Let’s take a closer look at its key details.

Hyundai Creta Electric Battery & Charging Time

The carmaker has confirmed that the Creta EV comes with two battery packs – 42kWh and 51.4kWh (Long Range) – promising a range of 390km and 473km, respectively. The EV features a battery heater to ensure maximum charging performance and range in cold weather conditions. It can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in just 7.9 seconds.

The SUV’s batteries can be charged from 10 to 100 percent in 4 hours using an 11kW smart connected wall box charger or an AC home charger, which can be operated via the myHyundai App. The Creta EV also supports DC fast charging, taking just 58 minutes for a full charge. To keep the vehicle’s components cool and enhance its aerodynamics, Hyundai has equipped the EV with Active Air Flaps.

Hyundai Creta Electric Safety Features

When it comes to safety, the electric Creta is claimed to offer over 75 advanced safety features, including 52 standard across all variants. The standard safety kit includes six airbags, electronic parking brakes with auto hold, all-wheel disc brakes, hill descent control, hill start assist control, electronic stability control with vehicle stability management, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and Isofix child seat anchors. The EV also comes with front parking sensors, a blind-spot view monitor, a surround-view monitor, rain-sensing wipers, a digital key, and more.

Furthermore, the Creta Electric is equipped with Hyundai SmartSense Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), offering 19 features such as forward collision warning, lane keep assist, blind-spot collision warning, and smart cruise control with stop-and-go functionality. The ADAS suite is linked to a regenerative braking system that automatically senses the distance from the vehicle ahead and adjusts the regenerative braking level as needed. Hyundai states that the Creta Electric has been built using advanced high-strength steel and high-strength steel for enhanced safety.

The electric Creta is also equipped with advanced technologies such as single-pedal driving (i-Pedal), shift-by-wire technology, a digital key, vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability, dual curvilinear screens measuring 10.25 inches, in-car payment for EV charging, an 8-speaker Bose premium sound system, dual-zone automatic temperature control, ventilated front seats, a cooled glove box, a front armrest with cooled storage, a voice-enabled smart panoramic sunroof, and Hyundai BlueLink connectivity with over 70 connected features.
