A mobile science lab to create awareness of emerging technologies among students of government schools across Telangana was flagged by Minister for IT and Industries D. Sridhar Babu from Hyderabad on Friday.

“This mobile science lab will serve as a bridge to expose students to emerging technologies, nurture their creativity and unlock their innovative potential. Knowledge of cutting-edge technologies will significantly benefit students in shaping their future,” the Minister said.

He urged the District Collectors, senior officials and district education officers to ensure the lab reaches students and fosters their interest in technology, Mr. Sridhar Babu’s office said on the Futuristic Lab on Wheels (FLOW) that is equipped with emerging technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Virtual Reality (VR), Robotics, 3D printing and Machine Learning. The vehicle will travel across all the 33 districts in the State, in 45 days, to ignite interest and create awareness of advanced technological innovations among the government school students.

Conceptualised as a part of the Kalam Inspiration Yatra-33, the lab has been developed with the collaboration of Vande Mataram Foundation and Telangana Innovation Cell besides a $100,000 financial support provided as a corporate social responsibility by Salesforce India.

Lauding the initiative, the Minister said such efforts would go a long way in sparking curiosity and enthusiasm for modern technology among the students. In the next phase, the initiative will focus on offering hands-on, practical experience with modern technologies.
