Rythu Bharosa: T survey to identify non-cultivable land | Hyderabad News


Hyderabad: The state govt is planning to conduct a collaborative survey to identify non-cultivable land areas that will be excluded from the Rythu Bharosa scheme.
According to reliable sources, survey will involve agriculture, revenue, and panchayat raj departments. Lands that are rocky, hilly, designated for industrial use, part of real estate projects, acquired by the govt for various purposes, or used for residential purposes will be excluded from the scheme.
For land parcels that are partially cultivated and partially uncultivable, the uncultivable portion will be identified by its specific survey number and excluded from the Rythu Bharosa list, rather than using the patta account number. A list of non-cultivable land survey numbers will be created and flagged to prevent any investment assistance.
Preliminary estimates suggest that there are between 12 and 15 lakh acres of non-cultivable land across the state. Information on non-agricultural land will be gathered from municipal department, while land acquired for irrigation projects will be sourced from irrigation department.
The agriculture department has reported that approximately 1.3 crore acres of land were cultivated during the monsoon season. These figures will serve as the benchmark for Rythu Bharosa payments, with the govt securing the necessary funds. The remaining cultivable land is estimated to be between 5 and 10 lakh acres.
Plans are in place to provide Rythu Bharosa for around 1.4 crore acres. At 6,000 per acre per season, the total amount allocated would be approximately 8,400 crores, which represents an increase of 1,000 crore compared to previous years. Should a significant amount of non-cultivable land be identified, there is a possibility that the govt’s investment assistance for Rythu Bharosa may be reduced. According to CCLA data, the state has 1.54 crore acres of cultivable land.
