World’s top EV manufacturer, BYD, is all set to expand its Indian product portfolio with a range of new models, including the Sealion 7 coupe SUV. The BYD Sealion 7 will make its India debut at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show, scheduled to be held from 17th to 22nd January in New Delhi. The prices of this electric coupe SUV are likely to be announced in the first quarter of this year (i.e. by March 2025).
In the company’s product lineup, the Sealion 7 will sit above the Seal sedan, which is currently available at ₹41 lakh. In India, it won’t have any direct rivals, but in terms of pricing, it will compete against the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6.
BYD Sealion 7 Range & Battery
Built on the brand’s e-Platform 3.0 skateboard electric architecture, the Sealion 7 comes with two battery pack options – 82.5 kWh and 91.3 kWh. The Excellence AWD variant, equipped with the larger battery, delivers a WLTP range of up to 502 km. BYD claims that the Sealion 7 Excellence AWD variant can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and achieve a top speed of 215 km/h. It is available with both FWD and RWD drivetrain options and supports V2L (vehicle-to-load) functionality.
BYD Sealion 7 Charging Time
The coupe SUV is equipped with an 11 kW three-phase AC charger as standard. Its Excellence AWD version can be charged via ultra-fast DC charging up to 230 kW, going from 10% to 80% in just 24 minutes. The Comfort and Design editions, on the other hand, take nearly 32 minutes to charge from 10% to 80% using DC fast charging at up to 150 kW. The electric coupe SUV features a front double-wishbone and rear multi-link suspension system, complemented by Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) shock absorbers.

Measuring approximately 4.8 meters in length, the Sealion 7 boasts an intelligent cockpit with a rotating 15.6-inch center screen, four-zone voice control, wireless smartphone connectivity, ventilated and heated front seats, heated rear seats, a panoramic sunroof, a customizable driver’s seat with electric lumbar and leg support, OTA (over-the-air) updates, a head-up display (HUD), a 12-speaker Dynaudio system, and numerous other features.
