Foundation laid for traffic awareness park in Hanamkonda

Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Monday laid the foundation stone for a traffic awareness park at the Government High School in Hanamkonda.

The traffic awareness park will be developed as per the guidelines of UNICEF to create road safety awareness among children, official sources said. The park will be designed to familiarise schoolchildren with traffic rules and impart road safety tips to them. The State government is planning to set up similar parks in the government and private schools across the State to sensitise schoolchildren on road safety, sources added.

Minister for Revenue, Housing, Information and Public Relations Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Minister for Forest, Environment and Endowments Konda Surekha, Warangal MP K Kavya, Hanamkonda Collector P. Pravinya, Warangal Collector Satya Sharada, and others were present.

A pledge was administered on the occasion to mark the month-long road safety awareness campaign.
