People were seen buying multiple dresses in view of Bhogi, Makara Sankranti and Kanuma festivals. The rush is expected to pick up in the weekend.
Pandupulla Sandhu, which houses dozens of garment stores for all ages of people, was seen flocked by scores of people since the morning. The shopkeepers were offering special discounts in view of the festival. Similarly, the garment market near the Police Commissionerate was also seen overcrowded with shoppers making a beeline for the stores.
K Dhanunjaya, a GVMC contract staff, who was shopping at a store over there, said, “I had spent nearly ₹3,500 to purchase three pairs of clothes each for my two children, which is good deal. In the next couple of days, the rush may double, so I preferred to buy them now.”
