Andhra Pradesh committed to making Visakhapatnam a data hub in the world, says IT Minister

The State is committed to making Visakhapatnam a data hub in the world, said Information Technology Minister Nara Lokesh at the Digital Technology Summit organised by DeepTech Skills Foundation (DTNF) and A.P. Digital Technology Leadership Forum (APDTILF) at the VMRDA Children’s Arena here on Wednesday.

Mr. Lokesh said it was a privilege to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects worth nearly ₹2 lakh crore across the State. He said this was a great start for the development of the State with the commitment and dedication of the Prime Minister and Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu.

He delivered the keynote address, setting the tone for discussions on innovation, deeptech skilling and convergence as key enablers for Andhra Pradesh’s development.

The programme, which was co-hosted by Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), marked a significant milestone in positioning Andhra Pradesh as a leader in digital innovation, deep tech skills and industry convergence, said the summit chairman Sreedhar Kosaraju.

Speaking to media persons on the occasion, Mr. Sreedhar said summit was organised with objectives like to bring together leaders across seven digital technology industry sectors: IT, ITeS, Emerging Technologies, Electronics, AVGC (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics), Smart & Sustainable Tech and Med & HealthTech. Also, to foster actionable discussions around innovation, deep tech skills and convergence in Andhra Pradesh.

On the Day One, 60 plus renowned speakers and thought leaders addressed the gathering and spoke on various topics. The day concluded with an engaging Fireside Chat between Rajeev Chandrasekar, former Union MoS for E&IT, Skill & Entrepreneurship, and B.V. Naidu. The discussion revolved around opportunities in Emerging Tech Startups, attended by industry chief executive officers, government officials and startup founders.
