My Hyundai Creta diesel MT at 64000km: Delightful ownership experience

It gives me upto 20kmpl with a light foot, with speeds upto 100kmph, never goes below 17.5kmpl when driven enthusiastically on the highway.

BHPian gsratta recently shared this with other enthusiasts:

Kudos to you for keeping the Creta in such a good shape, I also own a 2019 top of the line SX(O) Executive diesel manual with ventilated seats.

The ownership experience of four and a half years has been a delight, fun to drive, comfortable and fuel efficient as well, gives me upto 20kmpl with a light foot, with speeds upto 100kmph, never goes below 17.5kmpl when driven enthusiastically on the highway. My driving is mostly on four lane highways. I have covered around 64000km, mostly trouble free, except once when the driver electric seat adjustment, was not working properly, a simple DIY of removing and cleaning the inner switch board with compressed air and WD40, rectified it.

The regular service at authorised service centre was all that it needed. It is a nice keeper car, with no hassles of DPF or DEF in current diesel cars.

Here’s what BHPian sox had to say on the matter:

I now feel jealous that you have the ventilated seat option.

The car is in such a great shape! Congratulations. BTW did you have any mechanical issues in the car? Any niggles? A reply would be much appreciated.

BHPian gsratta replied:

The car has been trouble free, no mechanical issues, except that there was slight seepage of gear oil from one axle seal, although the the service centre guys told me, it was minor, does not require any attention, as it was not dripping on the ground, but on my insistence it was changed, as I want my car’s engine and gearbox speclessly clean, moreover there is no way to check the level of gear oil, like we can do in engine oil. I also got the gear oil changed to new when the axle seal was changed at the service centre. There have been no other issues other than this and the seat switch, both were managed properly.
