Mystery shrouds death of NEET aspirant

Vijayawada: A 17-year-old NEET aspirant was found dead under suspicious circumstances at a private intermediate college near Tadipadaga in Krishna district on Wednesday. The student, Ramisetty Ganga Bhuvaneswari, was from Uppada village in Pithapuram.
Her mother, Govinda Lakshmi, expressed doubts over the college management’s claims. “My daughter was healthy and had no known medical issues. I spoke to her on phone last night, and she sounded fine. The college management informed me that she developed a headache late at night and was taken to hospital. Now they are saying she is dead. Can someone lose her life because of a headache? The explanation is unacceptable,” she said.
She further questioned the delay and secrecy surrounding her daughter’s death. “Why did they hide the fact that she died? Why are they now asking us to take the body so carelessly?” she asked, demanding accountability from the institution.
Bhuvaneswari’s father, Yogi Vemanna, suffered a heart attack upon hearing the news of her death. He was rushed to a hospital in Kakinada, where his condition is said to be critical.
Penamaluru inspector Venkata Ramana said they are waiting for the family to lodge a formal complaint. The girl’s body has been moved to a nearby hospital for postmortem, the findings of which are awaited.
