Stating that the Centre was giving special priority to Andhra Pradesh in projects worth lakhs of crores, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday laid foundation stones and launched projects worth Rs 2 lakh crore in Visakhapatnam.
Modi, accompanied by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, held a roadshow from the Sampath Vinayak temple to the Andhra University’s engineering college ground.
People gathered in large numbers and showered flowers on the leaders of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) constituents as the trio stood in an open vehicle and waved at the crowd.
The entire stretch was decked up with party flags of TDP, BJP and Janasena.
Modi laid the foundation stone for a railway zone and NTPC’s integrated green hydrogen hub at Pudimadaka in Anakapalli district. He also dedicated to the nation various projects in the rail and road sectors.
Addressing a public meeting, Modi said, “Our Andhra Pradesh is a state of possibilities and opportunities. When these possibilities are realised, then only will Andhra develop and India will become a developed nation. Therefore, Andhra’s development is our vision and it is our commitment to serve the people of Andhra.”
Lauding the TDP-led Andhra Pradesh Government in the state, the Prime Minister said Andhra Pradesh has set a target to become a $2.5 trillion economy by 2047. To realise this vision, Chandrababu Naidu’s government has started the initiative ‘Swarna Andhra@2047’. In this, the NDA-led Centre is walking shoulder-to-shoulder with the Andhra Pradesh Government, he said.
“It is the time for Andhra to become a centre of new futuristic technologies,” Modi said.
Stating that the National Green Hydrogen Mission was launched in 2023 with a target of producing 5 million metric tonnes of green hydrogen by 2030, Modi said in the initial phase, two green hydrogen hubs would be established, one of which would be in Visakhapatnam. The green hydrogen hub would create numerous job opportunities and develop a manufacturing ecosystem in Andhra Pradesh, Modi said.
“I have the opportunity to lay the foundation stone for Bulk Drug Park in Nakkapalli. Andhra Pradesh is one of the three states in the country where such parks are being established. Our government views urbanisation as an opportunity and we aim to make Andhra Pradesh an example of new-age urbanisation. To realise this vision, today the foundation stone for the Krishnapatnam Industrial Area has been laid,” the PM said.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu hailed PM Modi’s leadership, saying, “I am always getting some inspiration from you, and I am learning so many lessons from you. I am very happy.”
