Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that promotions and transfers in the Irrigation department would be completed by the end of January. He also assured that pressing issues within the department would be addressed at the earliest.
Speaking at the launch of the 2025 diary of the Telangana AE Association at Jalasoudha, Erram Manzil Colony, here on Wednesday, Mr. Reddy urged the staff members to focus on innovation and excellence to ensure the department’s continued prestige for future generations. “With sincerity, dedication and transparency, we can restore Telangana’s irrigation sector to its former glory,” he stated.
The Minister highlighted that the government had successfully recruited 700 Assistant Executive Engineers (AEEs) and 1,800 Laskars over the past year. Additionally, the Public Service Commission has been authorised to fill 1,300 more posts.
The Congress-led government, under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, has adopted the principle of ‘minimum expenditure, maximum ayacut’, he said. “This approach aims to maximise irrigation benefits while keeping costs low. Efforts have been directed toward improving manpower, streamlining infrastructure and prioritising staff welfare,” he added.
Senior officials, including Engineer-in-Chief Anil Kumar, Deputy ENC K. Srinivas and association leaders Eluri Srinivas Rao and Satyanarayana, were present at the event.
