Key takeaways after covering 20k km in my 2022 Kia Seltos 1.4T DCT

Overall, this car puts a smile on my face whenever i drive it and not to forget, it still remains the smartest and sharpest looking crossover.

BHPian SJ1211 recently shared this with other enthusiasts:

Quote from BHPian SJ1211:

I have now completed nearly 2700 kms on my Kia Seltos GTX+ DCT and i am happy to share my quick mileage & drive related apprehensions about the Seltos DCT.

– The Car is fairly quick & smooth to drive. The 7 Speed DCT clutch and its stories got me very worried but happy to report a trouble free 3 month ownership experience with fantastic drive experience & mileage.
– My primarily usage has been in the city (Delhi-NCR) with frequent airport runs & also one outstation drive to Pushkar (nearly 450+ kms from Gurgaon)
– Overall Fuel efficiency has been ~16 km/L and has gone upto 19 km/L during the highway runs. I put my Seltos in the ECO mode when i am in bumper to bumper traffic in the city but in my opinion the NORMAL mode is the best where it gives the ideal performance & fuel efficiency.
– The DCT has been absolutely GEM to use so far with no overheating kind of situations & is butter smooth.
– I am an enthusiast who loves to rev the car hard but also on the other side i am very particular about my fuel efficiency. The overall numbers have been attained with Top Speed limited to 100 kmph & driving in general with a light foot.

Attaching a very recent trip to the airport from my home in Gurgaon during the peak hours & was my self stunned by the FE figures.
Absolutely loving the Seltos & i am super happy with my decision.

20k Km update on My 2022 Kia Seltos 1.4T DCT
It has been 2 years since i got Dracarys (pre facelift 1.4T DCT in Black). Long story cut short, i have completed 20k kms recently with a road trip to Rajasthan (Jaisalmer, Jodhpur). The car was fully loaded with 3 adults, 2 toddlers and was in the peak winter season. Key Takeways from my ownership period

1. 22k kms is the current mileage with overall efficiency around 12-17 km/l (12-15 being in the city & 15-17 on mix of highway runs)
2. Yes DCT is jerky at low speeds but once you are past 2k RPM, its a breeze and is super fun to drive.
3. Touchwood, no heating issues with DCT whatsoever, i want to highlight that i am myself very careful with the transmission & shift it to Neutral when i am in traffic!
4. No rattles / misfits anywhere in the car
5. Only pain point with Kia is the exterior plastic claddings have started to fade away. No amount of polish has sustained it.
6. Sorely miss the wireless connectivity for Apple Car Play but the wired connection is super stable

Overall, this car puts a smile on my face whenever i drive it and not to forget, it still remains the smartest and sharpest looking crossover. I surely think about the Pano sunroof & ADAS which are absent in my model but that’s for another time.

Attaching some pictures from the recent road trip to Rajasthan & the fuel economy at the end of ~2200 km road trip from Gurgaon to Jodhpur & Jaisalmer.
