Hyderabad: The Supreme Court on Thursday refused to take up for an urgent hearing on Friday the quash petition filed by BRS working president and former minister KT Rama Rao in the Formula E racing case being investigated by the ACB.
Since the quash petition is scheduled for Jan 15 before it, the top court clarified that it will be heard on that day only.
“There is no need to hear KTR’s quash petition until then,” the apex court said.
Although KTR’s lawyers requested for an urgent hearing, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court declined.
The Telangana high court had earlier dismissed the quash petition filed by KT Rama Rao in the case.
The high court also dismissed the interim orders granting relief to the legislator, following which he filed a petition in the Supreme Court, challenging the high court’s verdict.
