CM to India Inc: Come, invest in ‘dream called Telangana’

Hyderabad: Inviting the industry to invest in govt’s dream to transform Telangana by 2050, chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Friday assured India Inc of an ideal environment for doing business in the state and moderate taxes.
Addressing the national council meeting of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the CM said, “The doors of the govt are open. The CII can meet me with their ideas and plans. We want our economy to grow and market to function freely. We believe in a balanced govt, moderate taxes, high ease of doing business and robust growth. Please join me as Telangana means business. Together we can do miracles. I can give you the highest ease of doing business not just in India but in the world.”
Revanth said after a decade of its formation, the Cong govt has a bigger dream of ‘Telangana Rising’.
“We want to build the greatest city in India, the Future City. It will compete with New York, London, Tokyo, Seoul, and Dubai. It will have only the services sector and aim for a totally pollution-free carbon-zero city,” the CM said.
He listed out govt plans such as a rail ring around the regional ring road (RRR), a green energy policy, replacing all 3,200 diesel RTC buses in the city with EVs in two years, and industrial clusters between outer ring road (ORR) and RRR.
In response to the govt’s ambitious plans, the CII proposed a national joint task force to realise its vision.
The CM further said: “Between ORR and RRR there will be a manufacturing base. It will be a semi-urban area with a manufacturing industry in pharma, life sciences, aerospace, defence, EVs and solar. We are focussing on upgrading skills and creating jobs. My strategy is to become the ‘China plus one alternative’ to the world. Outside RRR will be rural Telangana, where we are focussing on agriculture, organic farming, cold storages and warehousing for farmers.”
Pointing out that Telangana is a land-locked state, he said the govt was planning a dry port with dedicated highway and rail links to Machilipatnam sea port in Andhra Pradesh.
The CM said already registration and road tax on electric vehicles have been removed and the work to rejuvenate Musi has started. A 55 km river will flow with fresh water through the city, and radial roads, which would be almost dedicated corridors connecting ORR and RRR, are being developed, he said, adding that Hyderabad is making itself ready for climate change strategy with the objective of becoming a totally flood-free city.
“All this because we have a dream, a dream called Telangana,” CM Revanth said.
