Vijayawada: Ponguru Narayana, minister for municipal administration and urban development, unveiled govt’s initiatives to rejuvenate Andhra Pradesh’s real estate sector while inaugurating the Credai Vijayawada property show. His remarks underscored the state’s focus on simplifying regulations and fostering growth in the industry, which has faced significant setbacks over the past five years.
“The real estate sector has endured substantial challenges. To address these, we have streamlined regulations to make building construction and layout approvals more accessible. Our govt has studied the policies of 10 states and implemented simplified rules tailored to Andhra Pradesh,” Narayana announced.
Among the key reforms, he highlighted reducing road widths in layouts from 12 metre to 9 metre and delegating approval of buildings within 15 metre to licensed surveyors, eliminating the need for direct permissions.
“We’ve introduced a single-window system to expedite building approvals, so applicants no longer need to visit multiple offices,” he explained.
