She has become the fastest Indian woman player to score 4000 runs in One Day International. Mandhana achieved this feat during the first ODI against Ireland on January 10. ​​She has now become the 15th woman in the world to cross the 4000-run mark in ODIs and only the second Indian to do so after Mithali Raj.

While chasing the target, Mandhana achieved this feat by taking a single off the ball of Arlene Kelly in the ninth over. Leading the Indian team in the absence of regular captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Mandhana played a quickfire inning of 41 runs off 29 balls. Mandhana made an important partnership of 70 runs with debutant Prateek Raval (89). Due to which India got a solid start while chasing the target of 239 runs.

This ODI was Mandhana’s 95th match in this format, making her the fastest Indian woman to score 4000 runs and the third fastest overall. She also became the first Indian woman to achieve this feat in less than 100 innings. Mithali Raj remains India’s leading run-scorer in women’s ODIs with 7,805 runs, while Mandhana is now second in the list.

She became the leading run-scorer in both ODIs and T20Is in 2024 and broke the record for most international runs by a female cricketer across all formats in a calendar year. Additionally, she scored a century in India’s only Test match in 2024 and recorded four ODI centuries during the year, the most by any female player in history.
