Hyderabad: The GDP of Telangana has surpassed the national average with the state’s annual IT exports reaching an impressive $30 billion, said IT and industries minister D. Sridhar Babu while inaugurating the global innovation centre set up by the Netherlands-based ARIQT at Raidurgam on Friday.
The state is home to over 6,000 start-ups and 1,500 small and medium-sized software enterprises; it continues to attract quite a few IT giants to set up their global innovation centres, he noted.
The minister stated that the ARIQT’s Global Innovation Hub will create 300 new jobs. He underscored the importance of skilled human resources for industries and highlighted the state government’s initiatives like the Young India Skills University.
“The university will empower Telangana to become a beacon of skilled talent, catering to the ever-evolving demands of industries,” he stated.
Reaffirming Hyderabad’s standing as Talent City, Tech City, and Innovation City, Sridhar Babu said, “Hyderabad is not only a leading hub for software but also a powerhouse for industries such as pharma, biotech, aerospace and defence. The city offers world-class infrastructure and a highly skilled workforce, making it a preferred destination for diverse industries.”
The event was attended by ARIQT CEO Rupesh Kumar, Telangana IT adviser Sai Krishna and others.
