New TPCC team around corner; Cong to contest grads MLC polls

Hyderabad: Telangana Congress is all set to get a new team in place with four working presidents, senior vice-presidents, and general secretaries, with the final list for these posts being sent to the AICC leadership in Delhi by the end of this month.
TPCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud, in a chat with mediapersons on Saturday, said that CM Revanth Reddy and AICC incharge of Telangana Deepa Dasmunsi were also working to finalise the appointments of chairpersons, directors, and members of various state-run corporations, boards and commissions.
“This will be done by the end of the month,” he said.
In response to queries if the cabinet expansion is expected after Sankranti, Mahesh Goud said: “The cabinet expansion is not under my purview. It is the CM and the AICC leadership who will take a decision on this issue.”
In another development, Congress is unlikely to contest the two MLC teachers’ constituencies — Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar and Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda — and may support other parties-nominated candidates. The TPCC chief said party seniors will be consulted on which party, ally, or independent should be supported by the Congress. The party did not contest the two teacher MLC seats even in the previous election.
However, the party will contest the lone Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar graduates’ constituency and announce its candidate in 3-4 days.
