Vizag man to embark on world tour to capture one million portraits of women

Visakhapatnam: Bharadwaj Dayala from Visakhapatnam will embark on a road trip around the world covering 195 countries in March.
He is planning to undertake this journey as part of ‘the million amazing women project,’ aiming to capture one million portraits of women from every culture and background. He went on a similar world tour in 2006 becoming the first Indian to ride solo across five continents, covering 16 countries and 47,000 km.
Speaking to media, Bharadwaj said that he will travel extensively in each nation, capturing portraits of women from all walks of life, ranging from daily labourers to top executives, and from local leaders to global icons. “This on-the-ground expedition will spotlight the greatness of women worldwide, documenting their contributions, struggles, and triumphs. These portraits will be showcased on the million amazing women website and social media channels, providing global exposure and recognition,” said Bharadwaj.
“The project also includes awards for women, presented weekly, monthly, and annually. These awards honour extraordinary women who inspire through their actions and contributions. Weekly awards will spotlight incredible local women making a difference in their communities, while the monthly and annual awards focus on national icons. Together, these awards amplify the voices and stories of women, creating a ripple effect of inspiration and empowerment. The million amazing women project is not just about capturing portraits, it is about driving meaningful change. By creating a global platform to amplify women’s voices and impact, the project will help them gain recognition, support, and funding. From connecting them with international sponsors to fostering collaborations with nonprofits, our mission is to bridge the gap and empower women-led initiatives to scale their efforts,” he added.
