Intending to win Mr. Olympia title, a feat which has not been achieved by an Indian till date, he went to Sri Lanka, and received training from Mr. Olympia title winner Pushparaj. This helped him excel in bodybuilding at several international platforms. But soon, money became a huge issue for Ravi Kumar to pursue his passion.
After winning a medal at the Asian Bodybuilding Championship in 2019, he got an opportunity to meet CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. “After hearing my ordeal, the CM assured me all help, and I was introduced to Arjas Steel MD Sridhar Krishnamurthy, who agreed to sponsor me. Since then, there is no looking back,” he said.
Ravi is now intensively preparing for the competition to be held in Las Vegas this year. He follows a rigorous fitness regime and spends about eight hours a day in the gym, and follows a strict diet. “With the grace of god, I’m confident that I’ll win the Mr. Olympia title this year,” he asserted.
