Delhi News Live Updates: The Congress party Sunday promised to giver Rs 8,500 to every educated unemployed youth for one year under the ‘Yuva Udaan Yojana’ if voted to power in Delhi, news agency PTI reported. “We will provide financial assistance to youths who can show their skills in a company, factory or organisation. They will get money through these companies. This is not a scheme under which one will get money while sitting at home,” AICC general secretary Sachin Pilot said. This comes just a day before Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will launch the party’s campaign at the “Jai Bheem-Jai Samvidhan” public meeting in Seelampur.
Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal Sunday, taking a swipe at Union Home Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Amit Shahsaid that the latter’s party would demolish all the slums if it comes to power in the national Capital. “In ten years, BJP constructed only 4,000 jhuggis for 4 lakh people. So, it will take 1,000 years to provide a house for all of them in Delhi,” he said. “If you vote for BJP, then it will be like you signing on a suicide note. BJP has made plans to demolish all the jhuggis in Delhi. They will demolish all the slums within a year of forming the govt,” he added.
