Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Governor S. Abdul Nazeer conveyed his heartiest greetings to the people of the state on the joyous occasion of the Sankranti festival.
In a statement from Raj Bhavan on Sunday, the Governor said that the harvest festival, celebrated over three days as Bhogi, Makara Sankranti, and Kanuma, holds a significant place in our cultural tradition and marks the beginning of Uttarayanam. He noted that the festival is celebrated with abundant joy and jubilation, heralding the start of a new phase.
He expressed his wish that the vibrant Sankranti celebrations would evoke memories of our age-old traditions and glorious past, fostering unity among all sections of society.
