Cong govt misleading farmers: Harish

Hyderabad: Former finance minister and Siddepet MLA Harish Rao on Monday accused the Congress govt of misleading farmers at every turn by making promises that remain unfulfilled.
Addressing a press conference, he said, “Two months ago, in the Palamuru district, chief minister Revanth Reddy issued a check purportedly for a loan waiver amounting to 2,750 crore. However, as of now, the funds have yet to reach Sangareddy. In conversations with farmers from Medak, Siddipet, and Sangareddy districts, it was revealed that not a single rupee has been disbursed.”
He also claimed that loan waivers appeared to have been restricted to a select few, as those with loans exceeding 2 lakh have yet to receive any relief. “The promised bonus has turned out to be illusory. Tenant farmers have been misled by assurances of support,” Harish remarked.
He claimed that although the Congress govt promised 15,000 as farmer assistance but it only delivered 12,000, thereby deceiving the farming community. “This clearly indicates that the govt is not in favour of farmers. During election campaigns, they present an idyllic vision, but post-election, they reveal a clenched fist,” he said.
Harrish asked people to engage with farmers to unveil the Congress govt’s falsehoods when visiting villages for the Sankranti festival.
