Makar Sankranti 2025: Makar Sankranti, the festival of bathing and donation, will be celebrated after three years on Tuesday, 14 January. Preparations have been made for this in every house. At the same time, in the markets of Patna, people bought various types of sweets made from Tilkut, Lai, Almond Patti and Sesame seeds, Curd, Chuda and Jaggery till late night. Seasonal shops have been opened at many places in the streets and markets of Patna, where the sweet fragrance of Tilkut is attracting people from far away. From Tilkut to Chuda-Curd shops as well as Sudha counters, there was a crowd of buyers.
Makar Sankranti will be celebrated in rare Bhum-Pushya Yoga after 19 years
Astrologer Rakesh Jha told that after 19 years on the day of Makar Sankranti, a rare combination of Bhaum-Pushya Yoga is taking place. On this day, Bhaum-Pushya Yoga will start from 10:41 am, which will last for the whole day. This yoga is formed due to the presence of Pushya Nakshatra on Tuesday. Pushya Nakshatra represents growth, auspiciousness, wealth and spiritual growth.
Sankranti festival will be held after 3 years on 14th
Makar Sankranti, a special festival of Sanatan Dharma followers, will be celebrated after three years on 14 January. On this day, the combination of Punarvasu and Pushya Nakshatra with Magh Krishna Pratipada is forming. Bathing in Ganga and doing charity have special significance on the day of Makar Sankranti. By taking a bath on this day, one gets hundred times the virtuous results. Kharmas will end when Sun enters Capricorn on this day. After this the process of auspicious work will start. Sun will enter Capricorn on January 14 at 02:55 pm. Its auspicious period will last the whole day.

According to Tandanan Ramayana of Tamil, the unique tradition of flying kites on Makar Sankranti has been going on since Treta Yuga. It is also found in Balakand of Ramcharitmanas written by Goswami Tulsidas ji.
75 lakh liters of milk and 2 thousand tonnes of curd will be sold
Regarding Makar Sankranti, Patna Dairy Project and other branded companies have made preparations to provide milk and curd in sufficient quantity. According to traders, it is estimated that about 75 lakh liters of milk and 2 thousand tonnes of curd will be sold. Due to changing weather, the demand for curd and milk is expected to remain good. Patna Dairy Project along with Sudha Booth provided milk through tanker on 12th January. Milk will be made available through tanker on Monday also. Milk will also be available through tanker at Boring Road intersection, Rajvanshi Nagar near Hanuman Mandir, Jagdev Path, Peerbahor police station, Dinkar Golambar Nala Road, under Gaighat bridge.
This time, 35 lakh liters of milk will be supplied in Patna on the occasion of Makar Sankranti. Similarly, 950 metric tons of curd will be supplied. Patna Dairy Project has prepared 18 metric tons of Tilkut this time. Khova Tilkut is available at the price of Rs 250 (500 grams) and Plain Tilkut at the price of Rs 150 (400 grams). Apart from this, milk and curd of other branded companies are available in the market. According to traders, it is estimated that about 75 lakh liters of milk and 2 thousand tonnes of curd will be sold.
Jaggery and Khova Tilkut are the first choice of people.
Almond chikki, tilkut, laddu, gajak etc. are available in the market. But, the highest demand is for jaggery tilkut. People are also purchasing Khowa Tilkut this year. Khova Tilkut is being sold at the rate of Rs 400 to Rs 600 per kilogram. At the same time, almond chikki is being sold at Rs 200, jaggery tilkut at 350 to 400, sugar tilkut at 300 to 400, white sesame papdi and black sesame papdi at Rs 300-400 per kg.
