Revanth urges T BJP leaders to get Modi’s nod for T projects | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Sunday sought the cooperation of BJP Telangana leaders to prevail upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi to approve Metro rail expansion, Musi rejuvenation, speed up Kazipet rail coach factory works, construct a greenfield highway and dedicated rail line from Telangana to Machilipatnam port, regional ring road (RRR) and a rail ring around it among other projects.
Revanth offered to work with Rajya Sabha MP K Laxman, Union minister Bandi Sanjay, Haryana governor Bandaru Dattatreya and ex-governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao – all from BJP – and former Karimnagar MP B Vinod Kumar of BRS, who were on the dais with the CM, for the development of Hyderabad as a truly global city and for Telangana to contribute $ 1 trillion to Modi’s dream of transforming India into a $ 5 trillion economy.
“Politics can be played during elections. The need is to work together for the development of the state. I was expecting even Union coal minister G Kishan Reddy to participate in this programme but he is not here. If he had come, I would have urged him to understand that this is the best opportunity for all of us to convince PM Modi and get projects approved, get financial and other support,” the CM said at the launch of former Maharashtra governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao’s autobiography ‘Unika’ at a star hotel here.
“It is the collective responsibility of all of us to develop Hyderabad and the state. If we look at Tamil Nadu politics, we will see that all political parties set aside their ideologies and come together to stand as one when it comes to their mother tongue and Tamil Nadu development. All the elected representatives take the oath of office in Tamil only,” he said.
The CM recalled Vidyasagar Rao’s unblemished career, including his padayatra for Godavari water to Telangana.
“We know the importance and experience of Sagarji (Vidyasagar) that can be utilised for Telangana’s development, especially in utilising Godavari water. We will take his help and urge him to use his contacts to convince Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis to give required land for Telangana to build a barrage at Tummidi Hatti to lift more Godavari water,” he said.
The CM told the gathering that he already urged PM Modi to sanction the RRR and the ‘regional ring rail’ and to support various development projects in the state, including the second phase of Hyderabad metro rail expansion.
“Over 60% of Telangana’s income comes from Hyderabad. I urged PM Modi to allot a dry port as Telangana is a landlocked state, and extend help to expeditiously complete the Kazipet railway coach factory which was sanctioned recently. Telangana is not competing with Amaravati (upcoming capital of Andhra Pradesh) but with the world. Let us compete with cities like New York and Tokyo. To compete at the global level, we need to get all permissions for (expansion of) metro rail. I hope the union cabinet will approve the second phase of the Hyderabad Metro Rail project in its next meeting,” Revanth said.
“PM Modi is cooperating with Tamil Nadu govt to develop Metro rail and also approved Metro rail for Congress-ruled Karnataka. Let us cut across party lines. My appeal to Union minister Bandi Sanjay, K Laxman, Bandaru Dattareya, and BRS leader Vinod Kumar is, let us work together for the development of Telangana. I have no differences with anyone. I will meet anyone for Telangana’s development and seek everybody’s cooperation,” Revanth said.
