Maha Kumbh Mela: The first Amrit Snan (royal bath) is going on today in the Maha Kumbh 2025, which started on Paush Purnima. On the festival of Makar Sankranti, Naga Sadhus of many Akharas have taken a holy dip in the Sangam, in the nectar bath of Mahakumbh, Naga Sadhus of Mahanirvani were the first to take the dip of faith. A wonderful sight of bathing in nectar can be seen on the banks of Sangam. Devotees are also taking a dip of faith while chanting Har Har Mahadev, Jai Shri Ram. There is tight security on the Akhara road leading to the ‘snan’ area. Police, PAC, Akharas along with mounted police and paramilitary forces have been deployed.
Devotees camp since late night on Akhara Marg to take Charan Raj.
A large number of devotees camped on Akhara Marg since late night to offer prayers at the feet of Naga Sannyasis while going for Amrit Snan. The security personnel deployed here removed them several times, but after some time the devotees would come there again. Thousands of devotees were seen camping on the Akhara road till late night. Rajkumar, who came from Niwari in Madhya Pradesh, his wife Urmila and his family members say that they get this opportunity after many years. He will take this Charanraj to his village.
Heavy police force deployed on the exit route of Akharas
On Tuesday, on the occasion of Makar Sankranti festival, the nectar bath of the Akharas will last for about nine and a half hours. It will take more than 12 hours to leave the camp and return. Heavy police force is deployed on both sides of the exit route from Akhara.
