Mahindra XUV700, the popular SUV from the indigenous automaker, is all set to go electric this year. The SUV’s electric version will be introduced as Mahindra XEV 7e, which was recently revealed in a production-ready avatar via leaked images. From the pictures, its clear that the electric Mahindra XUV700 will retain the original silhouette and design elements. However, some of its design bits will be inspired by the forthcoming Mahindra XEV 9e, especially the front fascia.
Mahindra XUV700 Electric: Design
The Mahindra XEV 7e will feature a blacked-out grille, split headlamp setup and inverted L-shaped connected LED DRLs similar to the XEV 9e. Unlike the ICE-powered XUV700, the electric iteration will come with aero-optimized alloy wheels. Other design highlights will include new skid plates, LED light bars, flush fitting door handles and contrast ORVMs.

Mahindra XUV700 Electric: Interior, Features
The set of leaked images also reveals its interior. The Mahindra XEV 7e will come with Black and White interior theme, the two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated ‘infinity’ logo, and white seat upholstery. Similar to the XEV 9e, the Mahindra XEV 7e will have three-screen setup – one for the driver’s display, one for the infotainment system and one for the front passenger.
This electric SUV will be packed with several advanced features such as a 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, powered front seats with a memory function, VisionX HUD, a panoramic sunroof, an electronic parking brake, tyre pressure monitoring system, Level 2 ADAS and electronic parking brake.
Mahindra XUV700 Electric: Powertrain
The powertrain specifications are still under the wraps. However, the new Mahindra XEV 7e is likely to borrow pure electric setup from the XEV 9e, which comes with the 59kWh and 79kWh battery pack options. The former delivers a claimed MIDC range of 542km, while the latter offers 656km on a single charge. Mahindra might offer the AWD (all-wheel drive) system as an option.
