Hyderabad: ‘Bayan-E-Ghalib’, a cultural tribute celebrating legendary Urdu poet Mirza Ghalib, is to be held at Shilpakala Vedika, Madhapur, on January 18 at 7 pm.

While the ghazals are rendered by Dr. Prabha Srivastava, who revives ghazals through dedicated concerts, the kathak dance drama will be performed by Prof. Kumkum Dhar and troupe and the narration will be by Kabir Ahmad and Sudhanshu Mani.

The show, a rare combination of ghazals and kathak was first held in Lucknow, and after Hyderabad, is likely to be organised in New Delhi.

This immersive event combines powerful narration, soulful ghazal renditions, and enchanting kathak dance to bring to life the poetry and persona of one of the most iconic figures in Urdu literature.

Ghalib’s timeless poetry and prose have transcended borders and eras, capturing universal themes of love, loss, and human emotion. His unique narrative style, or ‘andaz-e-bayan’ is celebrated as unparalleled, blending deep intellect with a profound understanding of the human condition.

The ‘Bayan-e-Ghalib’ event is produced by Sudhanshu Mani, the visionary behind India’s Vande Bharat Express, and sponsored by Aand Kutumb Senior Community Living.

The entry to the show is free for senior citizens and caregivers, and for other categories, a nominal fee of Rs 399 will be charged. The tickets can be booked online on ‘www.bookmyshow.com’.
