Hyderabad: A man, allegedly trying to steal scrap, fell nearly 30 feet from the under-construction flyover at Amberpet and miraculously escaped with minor injuries. The incident came to light on Wednesday after the video started doing the rounds of social media.
The man was identified as Ramulu (37) from Falaknuma. On Monday, Ramulu was noticed by workers while he was allegedly trying to take scrap from the site. It was then that Ramulu decided to get away, but he had no way to escape except going down. Fortunately for him, there was a tree right next to the flyover.
The video shows Ramulu trying to get down using the tree, failing to get a firm hold and landing with a thud. Despite the height, the tree broke his fall and he survived. Police said that Ramulu merely had fractures on his hand.
“He is admitted in Osmania Hospital and is out of danger,” said a cop from Amberpet police station, adding that he was an alcoholic who lived on footpaths and survived on petty jobs. Cops said no case has been filed as there was no complaint so far.
