Story:
Famous tech entrepreneur Satya Akella (Avasarala Srinivas) returns to Telangana, India, from the United States, only to be kidnapped upon his arrival. Chief Minister Keshava (Naresh) assigns police officer Meenakshi (Meenakshi Chaudhary) to lead the rescue mission. To tackle this high-stakes situation, Meenakshi enlists the help of her ex-boyfriend and former cop, Yadagiri Damodhar Raju (Venkatesh). Raju, however, has left his action-packed life behind and now enjoys a peaceful life in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, with his wife, Bhagyalakshmi (Aishwarya Rajesh), and their family. Determined, Meenakshi travels to Rajahmundry to convince Raju to join the operation. Will she succeed in getting him on the mission? Why was Satya kidnapped? Who is behind the crime? As one of the dialogues in the movie says, whenever Venky comes with a family entertainer, it’s bound to be a hit—and Sankranthiki Vasthunnam proves it yet again. Playing a loving family man, a caring husband to an innocent wife, and an ex-lover to a smart cop, Venky delivers a flawless performance. His comedic timing, emotional depth, and engaging dialogues are a treat.
Aishwarya Rajesh shines in a lively role that feels fresh for her in Tollywood. Her character reflects the lives of many married women, making her performance relatable.
Meenakshi Chaudhary also stands out with her playful and confident portrayal. Her scenes teasing Aishwarya Rajesh in the second half and her chemistry with Venkatesh are thoroughly enjoyable.
The comedy works brilliantly, consistently delivering laughs throughout. The family moments and funny conflicts between the lead trio feel natural and relatable. Supporting actors like Naresh, VTV Ganesh, Upendra Limaye, Sai Kumar, and child artist Bheemala Revanth Pavan Sai Subhash add charm and humour whenever they appear on screen.

The movie focuses entirely on entertaining its audience, which it does well. However, the story is simple and predictable, with no major surprises or twists. It feels more like a familiar, feel-good tale.
The large cast could have been utilised better, as some characters don’t get enough screen time or depth. While the comedy is enjoyable, fans of Venky might have expected a few more standout moments.
The second half feels slightly stretched in parts, and some scenes require you to overlook logic to enjoy the fun.
Technical Aspects:
Director Anil Ravipudi delivers a clean and enjoyable family entertainer. The humour is light and appealing to all age groups, though the story could have been more engaging.
Bheems Ceciroleo’s music is a big asset, with songs that are already hits and fit seamlessly into the narrative. Sameer Reddy’s cinematography is adequate, capturing the essence of the story, while the editing by Tammiraju is crisp. The production values are nice and add to the overall experience.
Verdict:
On the whole, Sankranthiki Vasthunnam is a fun-filled family entertainer with plenty of laughs. Venky shines in a role tailor-made for him, supported by Aishwarya Rajesh’s relatable charm and Meenakshi Chaudhary’s lively energy. Bheems Ceciroleo’s music adds to the film’s appeal. Although the predictable story, a few illogical moments, a slightly dull second half, and underutilized characters may feel like minor drawbacks, the movie’s overall charm makes up for them.
