Tata Motors will kick start the new year with the grand unveiling of its three new electric SUVs at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show. The range includes the Harrier EV, Safari EV and Sierra EV/ICE. The Tata Harrier EV is slated to hit showrooms by March, while the Sierra EV and ICE-powered version will arrive in the second half of 2025. Here’re all key details of the upcoming Tata Sierra SUV that we know so far.
Platform & Engine
The Tata Sierra EV will be designed on the Acti.ev platform, which is also used for the Punch EV and Curvv EV. The SUV’s ICE version, on the other hand, will be built on the ATLAS architecture, which supports multiple body styles, size and future technologies. The powertrain details of the all-new Sierra are yet to be revealed. However, the media reports suggest that the Sierra EV could be offered with the single and dual-motor option, delivering a maximum range of up to 500km or above. The AWD (all-wheel drive) system will come as an option. Tata might use its 1.5L Hyperion turbo petrol and 2.0L diesel engines for the ICE version of the Sierra SUV.
Exterior Design
Most of its design and styling will stay close to the concept. The Tata Sierra will have a completely new front fascia featuring trapezoidal LED headlamps, a closed-off grille, a prominent skid plate, a full-width LED strip and a massive bumper. Enhancing its side profile will be the thick body cladding, squared wheel arches, large glass area between C and D-pillars, large alloy wheels and flush door handles. At the back, the SUV will sport full-width LED taillamps. Its overall length will be around 4.3-metres – 4.4-metres.
Interior & Features
The Tata Sierra EV and its ICE version will have similar interior layout and features. However, the former might get a few EV-specific elements highlighting its electric nature. There will be a large free-standing touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster. Features such as a twin-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel with illuminated Tata logo, Level 2 ADAS tech, a large sunroof, individual screens for the rear occupants, ventilated front seats and other premium goodies might also be on offer. Speculations are on rife that the Sierra will get a Lounge variant with 4-seats configuration, featuring independent seats at the rear with electric adjustment functionality.
