The Hyderabad Literary Festival (HLF) 2025 is set to captivate audiences with its vibrant line-up of literary discussions, cultural conversations, and artistic expressions. Scheduled to be organised at Sattva Knowledge City in Hitec City, Hyderabad, from January 24 to 26, 2025, the festival promises three days of inspiring and thought-provoking sessions.
Themes and segments at HLF 2025
The festival’s schedule includes an array of sessions and activities. Visitors can explore themes ranging from literature and storytelling to climate change, science, indigenous languages, and culture. Highlights include segments such as Kaavya Dhaara, Youngistaan Nukkad, Nanha Nukkad, workshops, exhibitions, and interactive sessions like Meet My Book.
Prominent personalities from cinema, journalism, and literature will feature in this year’s lineup. The inaugural plenary session, titled A Life in Cinema, would see veteran actor Shabana Azmi in conversation with HLF Festival director Amita Desai. Another plenary, Viewfinder: A Memoir, would feature actor Amol Palekar and his wife Sandhya Gokhale, engaging with filmmaker Mohana Krishna Indraganti.
Actor Huma Qureshi would discuss her work Zeba: An Accidental Superhero with Kinnera Murthy, while senior journalists Sreenivasan Jain and Mariyam Alavi would address Love Jihad and Other Fictions: Simple Facts to Counter Viral Falsehoods. Rajdeep Sardesai would delve into political surprises in The Election that Surprised India, joined by Sunita Reddy. Former RBI Governor Duvvuri Subbarao would share insights from his memoir Just a Mercenary? Notes from My Life and Career, conversing with Suchitra Shenoy.
The festival would conclude with the Ajay Gandhi Memorial Valedictory session, Values of the Indian Constitution, featuring Harsh Mander and Rajmohan Gandhi.
