Hyderabad: Burglars targeted a house and decamped with Rs 25 lakh cash and gold ornaments weighing about 20 tolas at Indira Nagar in Banjara Hills Road No 2 on Wednesday.
The house owner, Venkata Ramana, a native of Andhra Pradesh, had locked the house and went to his native place for Sankranti when the incident occurred.
Police said the burglars entered the house by breaking the lock on the main door, after which they broke open the almirah and stole the valuables. The incident came to light when the residents returned on Wednesday.
The Banjara Hills police are investigating. The CCTV footage from the surroundings is being collected and examined.
