Kia 7-seater SUV is under development. It’s the hottest news today! The South Korean automaker, which is ready to launch the Syros premium subcompact SUV in coming weeks, also aims to tap the highly competitive 7-seater SUV segment. Codenamed MQ4i, the new Kia three-row SUV will be positioned above the Seltos in the company’s Indian product portfolio, and will compete directly with the Mahindra XUV700 and Tata Safari. The upcoming 7-seater SUVs from Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Honda and Toyota will also challenge the new Kia SUV. Let’s take a look at all key details we know so far about this forthcoming model.
Kia 7-Seater SUV Powertrain
The Kia MQ4i SUV will be the brand’s first strong hybrid vehicle in the country. The model is likely to come with the 1.5L petrol engine paired to the strong hybrid technology. The Kia hybrid SUV will be based on the Sorento, which is globally sold with a 1.6L, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine integrated with an electric motor. This setup, with a 6-speed automatic gearbox, delivers a maximum power of 227bhp and 350Nm of torque. The Sorento is also available with a plug-in hybrid powertrain option.

Kia 7-Seater SUV Design & Features
As mentioned above, the new Kia MQ4i will be based on the Sorento sharing platform and several components with its donor model. The global-spec Kia Sorento is underpinned by the N3 platform, which is also used in models like Kia Carnival, Hyundai Tucson and Hyundai Santa Fe. This architecture has been designed with high strength steel and lightweight materials. It’s capable of accommodating ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) and supporting multiple powertrains. Therefore, it’s expected that the upcoming three-row Kia SUV will get the ADAS suite along with a bunch of advanced features.
Kia 7-Seater SUV Price Expectations
Kia’s Anantapur manufacturing facility will serve as production hub for the new Kia MQ4i SUV. The carmaker aims to produce approximately 50,000 units of this model annually for both domestic and overseas markets.
