It’s that time of the year when automakers hike prices. Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors and Mahindra have all announced an increase in prices citing rising input costs and stricter safety regulations. Joining the band wagon is Toyota Kirloskar Motors. The company has hiked prices of its popular 3 row SUV, the Fortuner from January 2025. The automaker has confirmed this price increase to Republic Auto.
Toyota Fortuner Price Hike Jan 2025
Toyota Fortuner sees a price revision of Rs 35,000 to Rs 50,000 across its variant lineup. This includes both the Standard Sigma and Legender versions and across the petrol and diesel trims. Starting at the base petrol 4×2 variant with manual transmission, the price hike is by Rs 35,000 and comes in at an ex-showroom price of Rs 33.78 lakh.
The Toyota Fortuner automatic variant is at Rs 35,02,000 following the price hike. Fortuner petrol Pearl White is at a higher pricing. It starts off at Rs 33,58,000 and Rs 35,17,000 for the manual and automatic variants respectively.
Fortuner diesel trims are now priced higher. The 4x2MT variant is currently at Rs 35,93,000 while the Pearl White automatic carries a price tag of Rs 42,47,000. The top spec Legender 4×4 automatic transmission variant carries a Rs 50,000 price hike with prices ranging from Rs 43,66,000 to Rs 51,59,000 (all prices are ex-showroom).
Toyota Fortuner – Features
Toyota was the 5th best-selling automaker in India in December 2024. Among its model lineup, the Fortuner plays a major role in sales. Regaled for its outstanding exterior looks and feature rich interiors, the Toyota Fortuner, with premium and a well-built structure is offered in 4×2 and 4×4 options and in petrol and diesel engines. It rides on 18 inch alloy wheels and interiors boast of front ventilated seating and automatic climate controls among other features.
Safety is also a highlight of the Toyota Fortuner with a total of 7 airbags. It also boasts of traction control, TPMS and ABS and EBD. The 4×4 variant gets hill hold assist, hill descent control and electronic differential locking system. It also receives an electronic drive select control to shift from 2H to 4H 4L.
Toyota Fortuner is presented in petrol and diesel engines. The 2.7 liter, inline, four cylinder petrol engine offers 164 hp power and 245 Nm torque. It gets mated to a 6 speed manual and automatic transmission. This engine option is exclusively presented on the 4×2 drivetrain.
There is also a 2.8 liter turbocharged diesel engine. This engine delivers 200 hp power and 510 Nm torque. It gets mated to a 6 speed manual and automatic gearbox. It is offered both on the 4×2 and 4×4 drivetrain.
