The Hyundai Creta Electric has finally been launched in India. The electric EV model lineup comes in four trims – Executive, Smart, Premium and Excellence – priced from Rs 17.99 lakh to Rs 19.99 lakh. One must note that these prices are for the 42kWh battery pack variants. There are two variants with the 51.4kWh battery – Smart (O) and Excellence – priced at Rs 21.49 lakh and Rs 23.49 lakh, respectively. All mentioned prices are introductory, ex-showroom.
Compared to the regular Creta that costs between Rs 11 lakh – Rs 20.30 lakh, the SUV’s electric iteration is nearly Rs 7 lakh (base variant) more expensive. The electric Creta directly takes on the Tata Curvv EV (Rs 17.49 lakh – Rs 21.99 lakh) and MG ZS EV (Rs 18.98 lakh – Rs 25.75 lakh) along with the upcoming Maruti e Vitara and Mahindra XEV 9e.

Hyundai Creta Electric: Range, Battery
The new Creta electric is being offered with two battery pack options – 42kWh with 135bhp motor and 51.4kWh with 171bhp motor, offering an ARAI-certified range of 390km and 473km, respectively. The SUV’s Long-Range version with the bigger battery does 0 to 100kmph in 7.9 seconds. There are three drive modes – Eco, Normal and Sport, along with the steering column mounted drive mode selector as we have seen in the Ioniq 5. The EV also gets i-Pedal technology.

Hyundai Creta Electric: Charging Time
Hyundai claims that the electric Creta can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in 58 minutes via DC fast charger. Charging from 10 to 100 percent using a 11kW AC wall box charger takes nearly 4 hours. Additionally, customers can access multiple remote charging functions by using myHyundai app. In order to improve its aerodynamic efficiency, Hyundai has added “Active Air Flaps” to the EV.

Hyundai Creta Electric: Interior, Features
Interior of the Hyundai Creta EV shares a strong resemblance with the ICE-powered Creta. It has the same dashboard design, dual 10.25-inch screens for instrumentation and infotainment functionalities, auto dimming IRVM, dual zone climate control, an 8-speaker Bose audio system and Level 2 ADAS (advanced driver assistance system).
The EV version differentiates itself with a newly-designed centre console and steering wheel. The electric Creta has a shift-by-wire system that can be accessed via a steering-mounted control button. The top Excellence trim comes with some exclusive features such as a digital key, in-car payment for charging the EV, voice commands for the info unit, V2L (vehicle-to-load) charging capabilities and Hyundai’s BlueLink in-car connectivity.

Hyundai Creta Electric: Safety Features
On the safety front, the Hyundai Creta EV offers the Level 2 ADAS suite that includes features such as adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, etc. Additional safety features include six airbags, 360 degree cameras, electronic stability control, hill start and descent assist, rear disc brakes, Isofix anchors, tyre pressure monitoring system, front parking sensors and rain sensing wipers.
