JWS MG Motor India has unveiled the M9 luxury MPV for the Indian market at the ongoing Bharat Mobility Show. Bookings for the model have already been commenced nationwide, and deliveries will start in April. It will be sold via the brand’s new MG Select retail network. The carmaker announced its premium MG outlets a few months ago and revealed that MG Select dealerships will have their own identity, unique aesthetics, and communication materials.
The MG Cyberster will be the first product to be sold via MG Select, followed by the MG M9 MPV. The M9 is already on sale in select global markets as Mifa 9. In India, it’s expected to cost around Rs 65 lakh to challenge the Kia Carnvial, which is available at Rs 63.90 lakh.
MG M9: Battery, Range
The M9 is an electric MPV featuring a 90kWh lithium-ion battery pack and a front-axle mounted electric motor. This setup, with the FWD system, delivers a claimed power of 245hbp and 350Nm of torque. The MPV offers a WLTP claimed range of 430km on a single charge. For performing transmission duties, this premium electric MPV has an 8-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox.
MG M9: Interior, Exterior
This new MG MPV measures 5,270mm in length, 2,000mm in width and 1,840mm in height with a wheelbase of 3,200mm. In India, it’s likely to be offered with two seating configurations: 7 and 8-seats. The M9 has the conventional MPV styling with boxy and tall stance, an upright nose and a large glass area.
Aiming to enhance its premium and comfort quotient, MG has equipped the MPV with features such as rear entertainment screens, twin sunroofs (a single-pane in the front and dual-pane in the rear), powered front and rear seats with heating, ventilation and massage, powered rear sliding doors, fold-out ottoman seats and Nappa leather seat upholstery.
MG M9: Features
The new MG MPV comes with a host of features including a 12-speaker JBL sound system, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and navigation, electric sliding doors and tailgate, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, gray-tined privacy glass for rear passengers, multiple USB ports for all rows and a 220V power outlet for the second row passengers, tri-zone automatic climate control, wireless charging pad, 64 colour ambient lighting, power adjustable front seats, adaptive cruise control, a 360 degree panoramic camera, lane keep assist, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, etc.
