Hyderabad News: In a bizarre video that went viral, a fruit seller in Hyderabad could be seen demanding Rs 100 for a single banana from a Scottish man. The content creator himself shared the video on Instagram, getting hilarious reaction from the netizens. Hugh is a traveller and a content creator who explores and documents street food of Asian countries. He further rates them on his several social media handles.
Hugh is currently in India and exploring the unique street foods of the country. He has explored many street foods of India, including vada pav, pav bhaji, and jalebis. While on numerous occasions he is greeted warmly with vendors asking for less or even no charges, he encountered a rare situation in Hyderabad. The Scottish traveller was asked to pay Rs 100 when he wanted to buy a single banana on Thursday.
He usually interacts with the vendors in Hindi, asking the price and details of the food. However, he got an unexpected reply from the fruit seller when he asked “Kitna” which means “How much” for a single banana. The vendor replied that he needed to pay Rs 100 for a single piece of banana. However, travelling on several streets has definitely helped the Scottish man as he could sense that he was asked to pay more than the actual rate.
To seek confirmation, he repeatedly asked the rate of bananas from the vendor. However, the vendor did not change his demand and affirmed that the banana costed Rs 100. Hugh finally walked out of the scene without buying any bananas.

Though some of the social media users took the matter on the lighter note, others pointed out the wrong example the vendor was setting. They stated that the vendor was demeaning the country by asking extra amount from the foreigner.
