Hyderabad: A delegation led by chief minister A Revanth Reddy began its two-nation tour Friday with Singapore as the first destination seeking investments and various ties up in the state.
The state govt signed an MoU with the island nation’s Institute of Technical Education (ITE) to create a skilled workforce in Telangana.
The MoU was signed by vice-chancellor Subbarao of state’s new Young India Skills University (YISU) and ITE deputy director Fabian Cheong. The ITE officials also expressed their readiness to visit Hyderabad soon.
The CM, along with industries minister D Sridhar Babu and senior officials, is on a two-nation tour to attract investments to the state. The delegation’s first halt is in Singapore from Jan 17 to 19, and from there the team would leave for Davos in Switzerland to participate in the World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting to be held from Jan 20 to 22.
The ITE will extend its expertise in skill training, ranging from basic technical education for class 10 students to advanced training for graduates as well as individuals of any age with an interest in improving their skills.
The ITE, operating under the motto “Skills for the Future, Skills for Life,” currently trains over 28,000 individuals through a comprehensive offering of 100 full-time courses available both online and on-campus. With partnerships spanning 5,000 industries, ITE provides targeted, job-oriented training programmes tailored to the workforce requirements of these industries.
The same ethos will now be adopted by Telangana’s Young India Skills University (yisu.in), which aims to provide industry-relevant training and job opportunities.
A significant outcome of this partnership is the ‘Training for Trainers’ initiative, where YISU trainers will receive advanced training from ITE experts. Additionally, the MoU enables YISU to integrate ITE’s globally acclaimed curriculum into its programmes, ensuring that students and trainees benefit from world-class educational standards.
The MoU was preceded by CM’s delegation holding a meeting with ITE officials, inspecting the skill development courses and advanced facilities provided in the institute.
Minister Sridhar Babu elaborated on various courses introduced in the Skill University, established in the Fourth City near Hyderabad, to provide skill development training to the youth and to meet the market demand for a skilled workforce in different sectors.
