Hyderabad: Ridiculing the Congress govt’s claims of launching more welfare schemes from Jan 26, former mnister T Harish Rao said the govt’s main focus is on cutting down the benefits for the poor. .
He said CM A Revanth Reddy, who made grand promises before coming to power, is now breaking those promises and betraying the people. Harish Rao said he wrote a letter to Revanth on the ration card issue. “Identification of beneficiaries for ration cards should take place in villages. But the Congress govt is selecting the beneficiaries based on the data from the caste survey. Lakhs of applications submitted during Praja Palana programme were ignored and discarded,” Harish Rao said at a press conference.
He said many promises made during the elections were not fulfilled. After swearing in the name of gods and deceiving the people, the Congress govt is now using Republic Day announcements to mislead the public, he alleged.
