Hyundai Staria, a large van-like premium MPV, is currently being displayed at the 2025 Auto Expo. It is presently on offer in international markets of Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Australia, New Zealand, Russia and South Africa where it is regaled for the space and comfort it affords to larger families. It also benefits the commercial segments.
Hyundai Staria Showcased At Auto Expo
Set to gauge customer interest at the 2025 Auto Expo, the Staria stands out due to its sheer dimensions. Hyundai Staria is presented in varying seating configurations. However, it was the 7 seater version which is being displayed in India. Globally it is offered in 4 rows for upto 11 occupants.
It measures 5,253 mm in length, 1,997 mm in width, and 1,990 mm in height. The Staria gets a wheelbase of 3,273 mm and is positioned on the Hyundai-Kia Ne platform on which the new gen Kia Carnival is also based. Kia Staria is a large van. It boasts of an innovative design with a revolutionary body and spacious interiors.
The exteriors, inspired by a spaceship design boasts of a black finished bumper dominated by a large mesh grille, an expansive windscreen, an LED light bar spanning its entire width and lower set pixel LED headlamps. It also gets automatic sliding doors, and towards the rear it shows off vertically stacked LED tail lamps again with pixel detailing.
Hyundai Staria is offered in 11, 9 and 7 seating configurations. It is also presented in a 2 seater commercial offering. However the model showcased here is a 7 seater version with seas that can recline at the touch of a button. The 9 seater version gets seats which can be rotated 180 degrees.
Luxurious Interiors
The interiors show off a large vertically positioned touchscreen, a free standing instrument cluster and a 4 spoke steering wheel. It also gets seats with ventilation function while features also extend to automatic climate control, wireless charging facility, and a power adjustable driver seat with lumbar support. It also gets LED ambient lighting, a 12 speaker Bose audio system and premium leather upholstery. Safety is via Level 2 ADAS, front parking sensors, 7 airbags and smart key.
Engine Options
Hyundai Staria is presented globally in both petrol and diesel engine options along with a hybrid option. These include a 3.5 liter, V6 petrol unit offering 272 hp power and 331 Nm torque. It gets mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox, driving the front wheels. There is also a 2.2 liter diesel unit that makes 177 hp power and 431 Nm torque and mated to a 6 speed MT and 8 speed AT. Hyundai Staria is offered both in front wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations.
If Hyundai Staria is launched in India, it could be priced upwards of Rs 65 lakh (ex-showroom) it will be seen as an alternative to the Kia Carnival apart from which it will find no other competition.
