Warangal: The Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS) has faced sharp criticism after distributing an old question paper from the November 2023 exam during the recently conducted Post Graduation Radiology examination on January 16, 2025.
University officials denied prior knowledge of the error but acknowledged systemic shortcomings. A university source, speaking on condition of anonymity, explained that KNRUHS typically sends syllabi to other states for question paper preparation. Multiple versions are received, with some stored for future use. “In this case, an old paper was neither deleted nor reviewed by subject experts, resulting in its reuse,” the source revealed.
Another official admitted that overseeing 24 Post Graduate exams conducted simultaneously is a big challenge, particularly with only one staff member managing the examination branch. However, ultimate responsibility lies with the Controllers of Examination, they noted.
The incident has drawn sharp criticism from students and faculty alike, who have demanded an immediate review of procedural lapses and greater accountability from the university administration. Many students expressed frustration over the mishandling, calling it a failure of basic diligence in the examination process.
The matter has been brought to the attention of the university vice-chancellor, and an inquiry committee has been formed to investigate the lapse. “We will thoroughly examine the issue and prepare a detailed report,” she said, assuring that appropriate action will be taken based on the findings.
