BYD Sealion 7 will be the first major product launch from the Chinese EV OEM in India this year. The electric coupe SUV recently made its India debut at the ongoing Bharat Mobility Show in New Delhi. Bookings for the new BYD EV have been commenced at a token sum of Rs 70,000. However, its prices will be announced in the month of March. Deliveries are likely to begin at the same time around. The Sealion will be the fourth electric offering from BYD India.
Exclusive Early Bird Offers:
The carmaker has announced some exclusive offers for bookings made by 17th February, 2025. BYD has taken ‘7’ from the name ‘Sealion 7’, and incorporated it as a theme by setting a booking amount of Rs 70,000. The company will also contribute Rs 70,000 towards the price of the EV for early bookings only. In addition, there is a 7 years/1.50 lakh km warranty and a free 7kW AC charger with free installation. The first 70 units of the electric coupe SUV will start from 7th March, 2025.
BYD Sealion 7: Range, Battery
The powertrain setup of the new BYD electric SUV consists of an 82.5kWh LFP Blade battery, available with the Premium RWD (rear-wheel drive) and Performance AWD (all-wheel drive) variants. While the former pushes out a maximum power of 313bhp and 380Nm of torque, the latter delivers a massive 530bhp and 690Nm. The Premium variant offers a MIDC-claimed range of 567km, and does 0 to 100kmph in 6.7 seconds. The Performance variant is claimed to run 542km on a full charge.
In India, the new Sealion EV will be offered in four colour options, namely, Shark Grey, Atlantis Grey, Cosmos Black and Aurora White. This electric coupe SUV measures 4,830mm in length, 1,925mm in width and 1,620mm in height. It sits on a 2,930mm long wheelbase and offers a boot space of 520-litres.
