7-seater SUV are enjoying immense popularity in the Indian market due to their commanding road presence, rugged styling, practicality and spacious cabin. Buyers currently have multiple option in the three-row SUV segment with prices ranging from Rs 9.48 lakh to Rs 51.44 lakh and above. Considering the tremendous growth of the fully-size SUV market, OEMs like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Honda, Mahindra, Kia, MG, Renault, Nissan and Skoda are planning to bring newer models in coming years. Here’s a brief overview of the top 10 upcoming 7-seater SUVs.

India’s largest passenger vehicle manufacturers, Maruti Suzuki is all set to enter into the premium 7-seater SUV segment with a new model based on the Grand Vitara. It will be the brand’s new flagship SUVwhich is slated to arrive in the second half of 2025. It will undoubtedly be longer and more spacious than the Grand Vitara, but will share most of its design elements, features, platform and powertrains with its 5-seater sibling.

Toyota will also launch a derivative of the 7-seater Grand Vitara, carrying the brand’s familiar design bits such as the signature grille, new alloys and revised bumpers. The upcoming Toyota 7-seater SUV will essentially be the three-row version of the Hyryder SUV. The new Maruti and Toyota 7-seater SUVs will come with the strong hybrid powertrain.

Hyundai 7-Seater SUV

Codenamed Ni1i, the forthcoming Hyundai 7-seater SUV will bridge the gap between the Alcazar and Tucson. This new model is reported to enter production by 2027. Interestingly, it will be the first Hyundai in India to feature petrol-hybrid powertrain. Hyundai’s Talegaon manufacturing plant will serve as production hub for this three-row SUV. The company aims to sell its nearly 50,000 units annually.

Mahindra XEV 7e

Mahindra XEV 7ethe electric iteration of the XUV700 SUV, will hit roads in the second half of 2025. The electric SUV will borrow some of its design and interior bits from the XEV 9e EV. Similar to Mahindra’s new born electric SUVs, the XEV 7e will be packed with features such as Level 2 ADAS suite, three-screen setup, new dual-tone steering, powered front seats with memory function, a panoramic sunroof and more. The EV is expected to be offered with the 59kWh and 79kWh battery packs, borrowed from the Mahindra XEV 9e.

Honda Cars India aims to expand its SUV product lineup with five new models by 2030. The range will include a 7-seater SUV that will sit above the Elevate in the company’s product lineup. The model is reported to be designed and developed by Honda’s R&D centers in Japan and Thailand. The new Honda 7-seater SUV is likely to underpin an all-new PF2 platform and come with a strong hybrid powertrain. It’s expected to witness a market release in 2027.

Kia Sorento-based SUV

The South Korean automaker, Kia plans to introduce a new strong hybrid 7-seater SUV – codenamed MQ4i. It will be based on the Sorento, which is already on sale in global markets. The global-spec Sorento comes with a plug-in hybrid and a 1.6L turbo petrol engine paired with an electric motor powertrain options.

MG Majestor is the new premium version of the updated Gloster SUV. The Gloster facelift is also due for coming months, but the launch timeline of the Majestor is yet to be revealed. The new variant is likely to offer a more premium interior than the Gloster. In fact, its exterior styling looks slightly different with a large blacked-out grille with bigger MG logo, new headlamps, black cladding, new alloy wheels and black treatment. Powering the MG Majestor will be the same 216bhp, 2.0L diesel engine that does duty in the Gloster.

Renault/Nissan 7-Seater SUVs

Renault’s new three-row SUV will essentially be the bigger version of the third-generation Duster, which is scheduled to launch in early 2026. The 7-seater Duster is expected to arrive in late 2027 or 2028. This SUV will share a strong resemblance to the new Duster. It’s likely to measure around 4.60 meters in length and could be offered with the same powertrain that will be available on the Duster.

Nissan will introduce its own derivatives of the 5 and 7-seater Renault Duster. However, both these SUVs will have different design language. Reports suggest the new Nissan 7-seater SUV might source some of its design elements from the Magnite.

New Skoda Kodiaq

The new Skoda Kodiaq recently made its India debut at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show. Its official launch date is yet to be announced, but the SUV is expected to hit showrooms by mid 2025. Prices of the SUV are expected to start from Rs 45 lakh. In India, the new Kodiaq could be offered with the 2.0L turbo petrol engine delivering 204PS/265PS. Noticeable changes have been made to its exterior and interior as well.
