Toyota has showcased this interesting van concept at the 2025 Auto Expo. Called as the “Cross Van Gear Concept”, this electric van comes with no B-pillar, flexible seating configurations and some nifty touches not usually not seen on cars.
There is no mistaking this boxy vehicle for anything other than a van. The front gets an upright black + silver bumper, flat bonnet and a near vertical front windshield:
The X-Van comes with slim lights including fog lamps positioned slightly lower in the bumper. Notice the small mirror on the top right side – this is a blindspot mirror which the driver can use to see the front left:
The talking point of this van are the interesting doors. While the rear ones are conventional sliding doors, the front ones get a clever opening mechanism that make it look like sliding ones:
From the sides, we can see the large glass area of the van along with its two-box design:
With both doors open, the ingress and egress is very convenient. There is a small step to get inside, but the X-Van gets a flat floor. Also note the missing B-pillar:
The rear door slides almost to the end of the van:
Like the front, the rear too gets a large black bumper with a silver element, slim tail lamps and a large windshield:
The front passenger seat can be swivelled to face the rear. The van can be configured in a 1-3-2 or a 2-2-2 layout as well:
